american apparel got it for cheap!!!

more corporate clothing giants antics. apparently, the american apparel store in lower east side manhattan was the store front for this wannabe rayfull edmund/boston george.
this scumbag worked as head of HR or some shit and would hire young naive hipster girls and then proceed to serve up all their friends. it worked out for awhile until the little elves at this winter wonderland decided to take $14,000.00 from the till.. haha..love the white girl, forever my lady!

Beast Within ...

tomorrow is the day that the beings of different energy levels are free to roam around this plane of existence to create mischief. pretty much a pass is issued to these beings, much like a smartrip or park hopper pass you get at disney world. im not sure why these beings, entities, demons, ghosts or whatever other name you have for energy vibrating at different levels, would want to revisit this ghetto of materialism. maybe because they want to stay hood or keep it real. pssshh... either way its party time snitches!

Giant Robot 50

More signs that I am a crusty, old bastard. Giant Robot, one of my favorite magazines on Asian lifestyle and culture is on issue number 50. I can remember when I was in college, the first place I found this magazine was at the local Record Exchange. I remember the issue vividly because it had Maggie Cheung's fine ass on the cover. Needless to say, in the very rural backdrop of Blacksburg, VA. GR gave me the perspective I needed. It gave me the feeling of empowerment knowing that world doesn't revolve around Good Old Boys. Maybe in their neck of the woods they reign supreme, but in the overall scheme of things, devils will once again cower to the Caucus Mountains.

under the covers

Oh wow. I got this news bit from MISSING TOOF. As I was scrolling, this Klaxons remake of Blackstreet's classic "No Diggety" caught my attention. Shit is buttahz. For Serious. Y'all can New Jack Swing on these nuts. Go ahead take a look at the other covers linked up on here. I know a particular Gossip fan will dig their choice of which song to cover. Frank Dux stand the fuck up.

MP3:  Klaxons - No Diggity (Blackstreet cover)

MP3:  Mark Ronson - Golden Skans (Klaxons cover)

MP3:  Hard Fi - Seven Nation Army (White Stripes cover)

MP3:  Gossip - Careless Whisper (Wham! cover)

MP3:  Futon - I Wanna Be Your Dog (The Stooges cover)

And last one for good measure, even though it technically isn't a cover. It still crushes.

MP3:  Michael Sembello - She’s A Maniac (Bloody Beetroots RMX)

Thanks once again to MISSING TOOF for hookin it up. Look at their past “Under The Covers” post to download some more covers. Buy shit.

what's poppin this weekend?

According to The Forgotten City, the folks at PITCREW are having a demo this Saturday in DC entitled IN THE STREETS.

Then on Sunday, be sure to head over to Duke Street Skatepark, in Alexandria for the Catalyst demo. Easily one of my favorite parks in the area. Peep the shreddin:

more duke st. haha

uh oh. it's that time again?

Yeah it sucks, the amount of daylight is slowly slipping away. Due to the oh so brilliant, yet only American concept of "Daylight Saving", I will now have to skate in only well lit areas, use the buddy system, and oh yeah...get to rock new fall gear! Found these courtesy of turntable lab.
